In an attempt to woo the bike lovers in the country, Suzuki Motorcycle India Ltd (SMIL) has reportedly slashed the price of its Inazuma GW250 street bike in India, bringing it down to ₹2.61 lakh on road Mumbai from the launch price of ₹3.61 lakh.

The Suzuki Inazuma, a bike which made its entry into the domestic market in January this year will now be cheaper by ₹1 lakh, reported OverDrive. The latest price cut in the wake of numerous prospects' inquiries at showrooms revealed that the exorbitant pricing of the bike is the reason for the poor sales of Inazuma in the country. The report also indicates that it is not just the prospective buyers who will get the benefit of this move, but also the customers who have already grabbed Inazuma from its showrooms. Apparently, Suzuki is contemplating to compensate them for the difference in price.

In India, the Inazuma GW250 is pegged against KTM Duke 200, Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300. Under the hood, the Suzuki motorcycle packs a 248cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, which generates a power of 26 bhp and a torque of 24.4 Nm. The bike is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features telescopic front forks and disc brakes.

With the price cut and the introduction of Let's scoter in the sub-continent market, Suzuki hopes to grab a good share in the country's two-wheeler market. Currently, Suzuki markets Access 125 and Swish 125 scooters in India. Recently, the company launched its 110cc segment scooter Let's in India with a price tag of ₹46,925 (ex-showroom Chennai). Let's is powered by 112.8cc engine which can churn out 8.7 bhp of peak power and 9 Nm of peak torque. The scooter takes on the likes Activa 110cc in the country.

The company also updated Swish and is priced at ₹52,671 (on-road, Delhi), which is cheaper than the Hond Activa 125. The upgrades include revamped instrument cluster and new body graphics. Under the hood, Swish 125 still draws its power from 24cc, four-stroke, single cylinder engine which is capable of generating peak power of 8.5 bhp and max torque of 9.8 Nm and the braking is handled by 120 mm drum brakes at both the front and rear wheels.
