Japanese two-wheeler maker Suzuki Motorcycle is reportedly preparing a low cost bike for the Indian market.
Codenamed XF251, the low cost bike that has been made in India, has been sent to Japan for testing and the model is likely to make its debut in the two-wheeler market in 2016, reports GaadiWaadi.
Although the details about XF251 are scanty at this point of time, rumour has it that the bike could be powered by 100-110cc engine, considering that other makers like Yamaha and Honda are also working on 100cc models. XF521 is likely to be priced in the range of ₹40,000.
Recently, Suzuki launched the fully-faired version of Gixxer 150 dubbed Gixxer SF in India with the price pegged at ₹83,439 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Seated on a wheelbase of 1,330 mm, Suzuki Gixxer SF measures 2,050 mm in length, 785 mm in width and 1,035 mm in height. The bike has a kerb weight of 139kg and gets telescopic forks for the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear.
