Japanese manufacturer Suzuki's Indian arm Suzuki Motorcycle India forayed to the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) segment of India with the launch of two vehicles. The company launched Ozark 250, which is priced at Rs 5.45 lakh, and the Quadsport Z400 model, priced at Rs 8.5 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
The Ozark 250 model is widely used for leisure activities while the Quadsport Z400 is for serious off-roading activities. The Ozark 250 is powered by a 245cc four-stroke air-cooled engine mated to five-speed transmission. The vehicle weighs just 194kg and has 210mm ground clearance, which is spot on for off-roading.
The Quadsport Z400 is powered by a 398cc four-stroke liquid-cooled engine mated to five-speed transmission. The ATV weighs 193kg and has 265mm ground clearance. The Quadsport Z400 also features disc brakes for all four wheels.
"With the goal of expanding our product line in India, we have decided to launch two of our popular ATV models in the market, hence showcasing our expertise across various categories," said Masayoshi Ito, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India. The company intends to make a strong foothold in this growing market and pave the way for future launches in India, he added.
Suzuki will sell the new ATVs through authorised dealers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, Jodhpur and Hyderabad. The Suzuki ATVs will be pitted against the extensive line-up Polaris ATVs India. Since the ATVs are not road-legal in India, the vehicles are for private use only.
