The first prototype of Suzuki's iM-4 compact SUV has been spied undergoing preliminary testing, giving the auto lovers an early glimpse of the model.
The test mule of the new Suzuki iM-4, purportedly called Ignis, was snapped by the folks at MotorOctane. In the images leaked online, the new prototype of Suzuki iM-4 is seen covered, hiding all the important detailing of the new compact SUV. However, the crossover in the image shows a design similar to the concept model, which we have seen at the Geneva auto show.
Suzuki iM-4 concept aka Ignis is expected to make its debut next year. The model is also rumoured to come to the Indian market. Under the bonnet, Suzuki iM-4 is expected to get 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged engine that will debut with the Baleno hatchback and the Swift's 1.2-litre Dualjet engine.
In India, iM-4 is also expected to include a diesel engine. According to the original publisher of the latest spy shots, the India-spec iM-4 will compete with the likes of Mahindra's upcoming mini SUV codenamed as S101.
The other rivals of Suzuki's compact SUV in ten sub-continent markets are Hyundai Creta and Ford EcoSport.
