It has now been confirmed that the engine line-up of Suzuki's upcoming hatchback, codenamed YRA, will feature 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine.
A new report of Auto Car India, Suzuki's upcoming YRA hatchback and next gen Swift will come with the 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine in the international market. Although both these models are expected in India, it is not sure if the same petrol mill will find its way to our market. The new petrol engine is expected to have boosted power and torque along with improved fuel efficiency.
Suzuki's YRA, which made its appearance at the recently-concluded Geneva Motor Show, is built on Suzuki's new-generation platform and is expected to mark its entry into the European market sometimes this year. The Suzuki iK-2 concept, YRA measures 4,023 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,450 mm in height, and comes with 225/45R18 tyres.
In India, YRA premium hatchback will be pitted against Honda's upcoming Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20, and the car is expected to accommodate features like chrome door handles, five-spoke alloy wheels, rear wiper, and de-fogger. Other expected features include steering-mounted controls, new music system with touchscreen, engine start stop button, electrically adjustable OVRMs, and reverse parking sensors.
