Suzuki Motor Corporation showcased Ignis Trail and the Ignis Water Activity concepts at the 14th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition on Monday. Both the concepts are based on the mini crossover Ignis, which will be launched in India in the festive season in 2016.
The Ignis Trail, first showcased at 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015, is a rugged version of the regular Ignis with an array of visual updates. The concept features bigger tyres and beefed-up wheel arches with mouldings stressing its off-road DNA with 4x4 layout. The car features red graphic line at the shoulder-line and fog lamp housing. The headlamp and grille cluster are also outlined in the red graphics. The black alloy wheels in the Ignis are updated with red accents in the Ignis Trail concept. Additionally, the concept gets contrasting black roof shade and roof rails.
On the other hand, the Ignis Water Activity concept is a delight for fishing enthusiast. The concept comes with a canoe draped in orange colour on the roof. The orange colour is complemented at the ORVMs, front grille, body claddings and outer ring of the alloy wheels. To give the car a sporty look, the alloy wheels come in black and the body colour is finished in matte khaki green metallic. The exterior is finished with a dedicated decal. Suzuki claims the interior has also adopted the colour of orange and khaki for various parts.
There is no word from Suzuki on the production of these models. Maruti Suzuki unveiled the regular Ignis at the Auto Expo 2016 in February in India. The car will go up against the Mahindra KUV100 in the newly formed micro SUV segment in India.
