Japanese carmaker Suzuki has unveiled limited edition of the Ignis crossover christened as iUnique in Italy. Limited to just 100 units, the Ignis iUnique can be booked via company's online shop and it has been priced at €16,900 (approximately Rs 12.25 lakh).
Suzuki is yet to launch the regular version of the Ignis in Italy. The customers of Ignis iUnique will get there cars delivered before the regular version's launch expected in January 2017.
The Ignis iUnique is a pure cosmetic upgrade over the regular Ignis version. Available in Artic White and Blue Maldives, the special edition sports with contrasting black roof. The orange colour touches can be seen at front grille, fog lamp housing and at the alloy wheels. An orange colored stripe starts at the front fender finishes at C-pillar running over the shoulder line. The ORVM cover is also finished in orange colour. Additionally, Ignis iUnique features silver roof rails and gloss black alloy wheels. Externally, Ignis iUnique looks similar to the Ignis Trail concept unveiled the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show.
Orange colour detailing is carried over inside at gearbox housing, AC vents and door handles. The special edition also flaunts automatic headlights, heated front seats, automatic climate control, touch-screen navigation system with 3D maps, cruise control, reversing camera and electrically adjustable rear view mirrors.
Suzuki Ignis iUnique draws power from a hybrid unit. The 1.2-litre DualJet engine develops 89bhp at 6,000rpm and 120Nm of torque at 4,400rpm in conjunction with the 12V lithium-ion battery that powers an electric motor having and output of 3bhp and 50Nm torque. The mill is coupled to five-speed manual transmission and power is sent to wheels via Allgrip four-wheel drive system.
