Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki's highly anticipated Gixxer 150 is reportedly set to make its India debut on 10 August.
Two wheeler lovers in India have been drooling over this stylish bike since its first appearance at Delhi Auto Expo 2014. Now a latest report of Zigwheels claims that the Gixxer 150, Suzuki's modish offering in the 150cc segment is coming to India on 10 August with a price tag around ₹75,000. The report also points out that the dealers of the company have started accepting bookings for the bike in India.
For Suzuki, Gixxer 150 launch in India is a crucial move as the company is looking to tap new volumes in the domestic market. The new Gixxer 150 is likely to get its power from 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which can churn out a power of 13.9PS and a peak torque of 13.4Nm.The bike will also come equipped with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology, which will help the two wheeler to deliver better performance and fuel efficiency.
Considering the price, the Gixxer bike is likely to take on the likes of Hero Xtreme and Honda CB Trigger in India. In its attempt to increase the sales in the country, Suzuki recently slashed the price of its Inazuma GW250 street bike in India. In India, the Inazuma GW250 is pegged against KTM Duke 200, Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 300 and was launched at ₹3.61 lakh. Under the hood, the Suzuki motorcycle packs a 248cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine, which generates a power of 26 bhp and a torque of 24.4 Nm. The bike is mated to a six-speed gearbox and features telescopic front forks and disc brakes.
Recently, Suzuki also introduced its 110cc segment scooter Let's in India with a price tag of ₹46,925 (ex-showroom Chennai). Currently, Suzuki markets Access 125 and Swish 125 scooters in India. Let's is powered by 112.8cc engine, which can churn out 8.7 bhp of peak power and 9 Nm of peak torque. The scooter takes on the likes Activa 110cc in the country.
