External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Monday for some endocrinological tests.
Doctors at AIIMS Hospital said that Swaraj is a severe diabetic patient, which is why she needs to undergo certain tests. The tests will be carried out on Tuesday following which she will be discharged if she is considered fit.
"The minister (Swaraj) was admitted at around 7:22 pm at AIIMS. She is having diabetes and other medical problems. She will undergo certain endocrinological tests tomorrow," a senior doctor told reporters.
Swaraj has been admitted to the cardio-neuro centre under the supervision of the chief of the Cardio Thoracic Centre Balram Airan.
Swaraj had visited AIIMS for a medical check-up on October 25 as well.
She had also been admitted to AIIMS in April 2016 after she complained of chest congestion.
