Tamil superstar Suriya's forthcoming Tamil movie "24" has something special for his fans: they can see him as grandfather, father and son.
The roles were essayed by three different actors – Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya – from the legendary Akkineni family in the Telugu movie "Manam". Samantha appeared in the female lead role.
"24" is the Tamil remake of "Manam".
Set in various time periods, "Manam" deals with the concept of rebirth and eternal love. The movie is about a married couple, who die in an accident leaving behind a son. As he grows up, he comes across reincarnations of his father and mother and tries his best to unite them.
Written and directed by Vikram Kumar, "Manam" is a box office success. Suriya's home production 2D Entertainment has reportedly bought the remake rights of the Telugu film.
The production, which has planned to remake it in Tamil as "24", has roped in Vikram Kumar to direct the movie.
Suriya, who has a penchant for playing double roles, was first seen in dual roles in "Perazhagan". Later, he essayed double roles in Tamil movies such as "Vaaranam Aayiram", "7aum Arivu" and "Maattrraan".
Having impressed viewers with his double act, Suriya is now set to take it up a notch in"24", playing three roles.
Oscar award winner musician AR Rahman, who has been roped to score music for "24", is said to have already composed few songs for the film.
PS Vinod is handling the camera work for the film whose shooting began few weeks ago in April 2015 in Mumbai.
