It is well known that south star Suriya's Tamil film "Singam" was remade in Hindi as "Singham", with Ajay Devgn reprising the role of a tough cop - Bajirao Singham.
The makers of the Tamil version have come up with the sequel to "Singam" which will be released this month. Speculations were rife whether the film would be remade in Hindi as "Singham 2." It seems that the Tamil version might not be remade as "Singham 2", as the Hindi makers reportedly have a script for the sequel. However, "Singam 2" script might be used for "Singham 3."
During a recent press meet held for "Singam 2", the film's director said, "We haven't been approached by the makers of 'Singham' for the remake of 'Singam 2'. However, we hear that they already have a script for the sequel and are most likely to go ahead with it. I will have clarity on this only after they watch our film," Hari said in media reports.
"Since they seem to have a script for Hindi sequel ready, in all probability 'Singam 2' may be remade as 'Singham 3' in Hindi. Of course, the decision to remake the film rests with them and it's too early to comment. Presently, I'm looking forward to the release of my film."
Suriya will be seen appearing as an authentic Indian cop who is on a mission overseas. While "Singam" showed Suriya fighting the local baddies, "Singam 2" will have the actor take on the criminals on the foreign soil including South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore.
The film also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Santhanam, Vivek, Nassar and Vijayakumar in supportive roles. The audio launch of "Singam" was held recently in Chennai. Six peppy songs, composed by Devi Sri Prasad, were unveiled for the press along with new 40-second teasers of the film. Ajay Devgn, who was a special guest, failed to turn up at the event owing to bad weather conditions. However, actor Sudeep, who did the "Singam" remake in Kannada, released the audio with other film stars inclduing Karthi, Lingusamy and Vijayakumar.
