The makers of "Anjaan" starring Suriya in the lead role have locked up the release date of the film. The Lingusamy directorial film is set for a worldwide release on 15 August.
"Anjaan has been planned as an August 15th release to coincide with Independence Day. August 15th also happens to be a Friday, it must be noted," Behind Woods reported.
"Anjaan" touted as the mass entertainer film is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Almost 40 percent of the shoot has already been completed, according to Behind Woods.
The film, which is jointly produced by Lingusamy's Thirrupathi Brothers and UTV Motion Pictures, will be entirely shot outside Tamil Nadu.
The director of the film wants to show "never seen before locations" due to which it is mostly shot in Goa and Maharashtra.
The remaining 60 percent of the shoot will take place in Maharashtra. At present, the shooting of the film is taking place in Whistling Woods Institute's campus in Mumbai.
Even the songs of the film have been planned by the music director Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The film will have an advantage on opening day as it is releasing on Independence Day. "Anjaan" should have a bumper opening as it is releasing on holiday-Friday.
Apart from Suriya, the mass entertainer film also features Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead role. The film also has an ensemble of top artistes including Vidyut Jamwal, Manoj Bajpai, Brahmanandam and Dalip Tahil.
