There has been a buzz doing the rounds that actor Suriya is all set to team up with director A. R. Murugadoss for a new project.
During the audio launch of the Telugu film "Sikander" ("Anjaan" in Tamil), Suriya had hinted that he would like to star in a direct Telugu film. Since then, the buzz is that Murugadoss might be directing a Telugu film and that the producers are finalised for the project. However, there is no official confirmation regarding this.
Suriya is popular among the Telugu-speaking audience, whose films have a huge market in Andhra and Telangana areas. Some of his Telugu-dubbed films have done fantastic business at the box office.
If the latest buzz on Suriya-Murugadoss film turns out to be true, it will be a real treat for their fans. The duo has already worked in two films "Ghajini" and "7 Aum Arivu" ("7th Sense" in Telugu).
Suriya is currently busy promoting his upcoming film "Anjaan," which is gearing up for 15 August release. The stylish gangster flick will have Suriya playing dual roles as Raju Bhai and Krishna. Samantha, Soori, Vidyut Jamwal, Dalip Tahil and Manoj Bajpai are also part of the film's cast.
"Anjaan" is directed by Lingusamy and is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Thirrupathi Brothers. The film's Telugu version "Sikander" is also expected to be released along with the Tamil version on 15 August.
Post the film's release, Suriya will be shifting his focus to Venkat Prabhu's "Mass." The "Singam" actor has teamed up with Venkat Prabhu for the first time, who has a good track record with popular films like "Chennai 28", "Goa", "Saroja", "Mankatha" and "Biriyani."
"Mass" is touted to be a kid-friendly, horror entertainer and is expected to hit the screens only next year, reported the Times of India.
On the other hand, director Murugadoss is currently busy with Vijay's "Kaththi." The film's shooting is progressing well, and the action entertainer is slated to release for Diwali this October. After "Kaththi" release, Murugadoss will commence his new Hindi project with popular Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha. This will be the director's third film in Bollywood after Aamir Khan's "Ghajini" and "Akshay Kumar's "Holiday – A Soldier is Never Off Duty."
