The teaser and audio launch of the magnum opus film "I" was held in a grand manner in Chennai.
But, Malayalam action hero Suresh Gopi, who plays negative role in the film was nowhere in the vicinity of the event. Now the rumour mills suggest that Suresh was not invited to the event.
Though the reason for Suresh's absence is not yet known, reports from various sources suggest that the actor had a tiff with the makers of "I". But, no word has been spoken about this by the actor or the "I" makers.
"The shooting of "I" went for two years and the schedules went on for more than expected days. Though allotted dates were over, the team was left to take many scenes of Suresh Gopi. The actor had also asked the team to finish off his scenes as he had many other commitments and projects in Malayalam and this was the beginning of the problems," reported Manorama Online.
It is also reported that the actor had thrown various tantrums on the sets, which had displeased the producers of the film.
Meanwhile, for Suresh, this is his fourth Tamil film after his performances in "Samsthanam" (2002), "Dheena" (2001) and a guest appearance in the 1991 film "Karpoora Mullai, which was the remake of Fazil directorial "Ente Sooryaputhriku".
Tamil superstar Vikram had also acted with Suresh in Malayalam films like "Dhruvam" (1993) directed by Joshiy and "Mafia" (1993) directed by Shaji Kailas.
The audio and teaser launch of "I" was held in Chennai on 15 September, which was attended by Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger and superstar Rajinikanth.
This big budget film is directed by Shankar, who is known for his films like "Kadhalan", "Indian", "Jeans", "Mudhalvan", "Sivaji" and "Enthiran".
"I" also has Amy Jackson, Upen Patel, Santhanam, Ramkumar Ganeshan, Mohan Kapoor and Srinivasan in pivotal roles. The film is expected to hit theatres for this Diwali.
