After a month long vacation, Rajinikanth has returned to India on Sunday, July 24. The Tamil superstar's daughter Aishwarya Dhanush had accompanied him on the U.S. trip.
"Rajinikanth sir and his daughter Aishwarya returned to Chennai earlier this evening. He was welcomed by hordes of fans at the airport. From the first week of August, he will resume work on his Tamil film '2.0'," the Indo-Asian News Service quoted a source as saying.
The buzz is that Rajinikanth had attended a detoxification program in the U.S. The superstar reportedly spent time with his family members, who are now said to be settled in the country and also paid a visit to the Satchitandanda ashram in Virginia.
It may be recalled that the photos of Rajinikanth's visit to the Satchitandanda ashram in Virginia had gone viral after Aishwarya Dhanush revealed it on Twitter.
On the other hand, his latest movie "Kabali" has opened to mixed reviews, yet the film has come out with flying colours at the worldwide box office. The movie was released in over 4,500 screens in three languages. Pa Ranjith-directorial film will release in the Malay version next weekend in Malaysia.
On the opening day, "Kabali" has reportedly grossed Rs. 87.5 crore and ended the first weekend on a high note by minting over Rs. 200 crore at the global box office.
"Kabali" is an action-oriented emotional drama, which has Radhika Apte in the female lead role. Dhansika, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan and many others in the supporting roles in the flick, which is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu.
At the U.S. box office, "Kabali" has raked in over Rs. 27 crore.
