Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to become grandfather for the third time. The actor's daughter Soundarya is expecting her first child.
During the audio launch of "Kochadaiiyaan," Rajinikanth had told Soundarya to take care of her family first and become a mother soon. The doting daughter has now granted his wish and is expecting her first baby.
Rajinikanth is already the grandfather of two kids; his elder daughter Aishwarya, who married actor Dhanush, has two children – Lingaa and Yatra.
Soundarya tied the knot with businessman Ashwin Ramkumar in 2010. She made her directorial debut with this year's release "Kochadaiiyaan," starring Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone. She was praised for introducing the 3D motion capturing techniques in India, though the film failed to set the cash registers ringing.
Soundarya joined Eros International as Director- Creative & Strategy as well as the Head of Digital Initiatives. Although she has joined Eros, Soundarya will also continue her passion to direct films. She is working on the script of her next film which will be produced by Eros.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's family is basking in the success of his latest release "Lingaa." The film, which hit the screens on 12 December, has done good business at the worldwide box office. It has reportedly grossed over ₹80 crore in its opening weekend worldwide. Despite getting mixed reviews, "Lingaa" has done strong business at the box office. It remains to be seen as to how the film fares in the coming days.
