"Supernatural" is going on a break before its 200th episode, but when the Winchester boys return, things are going to get weird for them as they investigate the disappearance of a school teacher.
The episode is titled "Fan Fiction" and will be a musical. But it is not immediately known if fans will see Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who essay Sam and Dean respectively, singing.
The plot revolves around the disappearance of a school teacher, and Sam and Dean investigating the mystery behind it. The brothers get the shock of their lives when they find that the school is putting on a musical based on their lives.
"I think it'll be one of the more amusing and engaging episodes we've done in a while," Supernatural executive producer Jeremy Carver said at the Television Critics Association press tour in July, according to Hypable. "We're going pretty meta. I would just describe it as something of a love letter to our fans, and there will be songs."
Speaking about the episode, Padalecki told Zap2It that "Fan Fiction" is similar to season 5's "The Real Ghostbusters," which took place at a convention for Carver Edlund's Supernatural books.
"We're not at a convention, but we're at a place where they're doing a play based on the Chuck Shurley books," he explains. "So not only are these books based on our lives, now people are doing a play based on these books, and someone is haunting it, so we go and try to investigate what's going on at this play, based on the books about our lives."
He added that the episode is a "direct shout-out to the fans and a thank you for their years of commitment to us. They are the reason we're here."
Tuesday's episode of "Supernatural" titled "Paper Moon" had Sam and Dean opening up about their regrets and back to saving lives. Dean is no longer a demon, and he is grateful that his brother saved him from going over the edge. The episode also saw the return of Kate, the werewolf they let escape back in Season 8's "Bitten."
Supernatural season 10 episode 5 will air on 11 November on CW.
