Sunny Leone's "Baby Doll" track from Bollywood film "Ragini MMS 2" has become "Chinnada Gombe Na" in Sandalwood! The former adult actress will now be seen dancing to the Kannada lyrics.
T—Series, which has the rights over the album, has also released it on its regional Youtube page. "Chinnada Gombe Na" has got a good number of likes and hits on the Youtube. Though it is yet to get popular, it is likely to become the talk of the town in the coming days.
The number has been crooned by Khushbu Jain and Saket with Suresh Sambal penning the lines and Meet Bros Anjjan & DJ Shilpi remixing it.
The original track was crooned by Kanika Kapoor and Meet Bros Anjjan. Kumaar had penned the Hindi lyrics. Probably this is the first such incident where a Hindi song has been dubbed in Kannada.
The new development comes after the unofficial ban on dubbing other language content to Kannada was struck down by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) a few months ago. As a result, filmmakers, TV channels and labels are now planning to venture into Sandalwood market with dubbed content. The Sunny Leone's track is on such attempt to test the waters and to draw the audience's attention. The success of the number will pave way for more songs being dubbed in Kannada.
However, several Kannada artists and various groups have continued their protest against the 'dubbing culture'. Though dubbing is legal now, the film industry and other groups are opposing it claiming that it will affect the industry in the long term.
Dubbing has been banned in the State since 1960s.
