After the release of his latest flick "Aambala" with Vishal, hit film-maker and actor Sundar C is now heading for back-to-back shooting. The latest we hear is that the actor-director talent has got the remake rights of two hit Malayalam movies: the 2014 film "Vellimoonga" with Biju Menon in the lead and the 2005 flick "Pandippada" starring Dileep and Prakash Raj.
As per the latest reports, Sundar will begin the shooting of "Vellimoonga" remake by March and he will play the lead in the movie. Rumours are that Sundar will ask someone else to direct the movie as he would like to concentrate more on the acting aspect.
Apparently, Sundar is so impressed with the storyline of the movie and is excited about starting the project. Meanwhile, the makers are busy with finalising the cast of the movie.
In the Malayalam version, it was Biju Menon and Nikki Galrani who played the lead roles. The story of "Vellimoonga" revolved around a 41-year-old unmarried man who is an aspiring politician. He falls in love with a girl who is half his age and is also the daughter of the woman whom he used to love as a teenager.
Meanwhile, the remake of "Pandippada" is expected to start after the release of "Vellimoonga" remake. This Dileep-Prakash Raj starrer was one of the biggest successes of 2005, which had run in theatres for more than 100 days.
Sundar's last directorial release was "Aambala" with a huge star cast of Vishal, Hansika Motwani, Prabhu, Vaibhav Reddy, Santhanam, Sathish, Madhuurima, Madhavi Latha, Ramya Krishnan, Kiran Rathod, Aishwarya, Tulasi, Rajeev Govinda Pillai, Vichu Vishwanath and Kanal Kannan. The film also had Andrea Jeremiah in a guest appearance.
