Sundar C seems to be ready to go to the next level in filmmaking as the director is reportedly planning to make a mega-budget film, which would be much bigger than SS Rajamouli's "Bahubali" ("Baahubali") with an A-list actor.
According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Sundar C will be directing a movie, which will be made with a huge budget of Rs. 250 crore, on the lines of Ram Charan Teja's "Magadheera" and "Bahubali."
The combined budget of the two instalments of "Bahubali" is said to be Rs. 250 crore. The makers had shelled out Rs. 120 crore on the first part of the movie.
Sri Thenandal Films has come forward to bankroll the historical-period film, which will be a landmark 100th film made by the production house. "We have almost locked in on the accredited technicians for the movie. While talks are on with cinematographer Tirru, Sabu Cyril for production design, and Kamala Kannan, who did VFX for "Bahubali," we are yet to decide on the music composer," Murali Ramanarayanan of Thenandal Films told the daily.
The makers have plans to sign up either Ilaiyaraaja or AR Rahman to compose the music for the film. The director is eyeing to cast a big star from the South and the names of Mahesh Babu and Suriya are doing the rounds for the lead role.
Meanwhile, Sundar C's wife Khushbu Sundar has confirmed on Twitter that her husband is teaming up with Sri Thenandal Films but has refused to spill the beans on the cast. She wrote, "to all those who ask; #Sundar.C is dng a mammoth film 4 @ThenandalFilms but beyond tat no actors r finalised..script is at final stage. [sic]"
She added, "#Sundar.C hs alwz blvd in gvng d best..so pls give time n do not jump 2 conclusions b4 d formal anncmnt abt d starcast..it wl b d BEST. [sic}"
