Delhi Police is planning to question Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar over whom Sunanda Pushkar fought with her husband Shashi Tharoor before her mysterious death early last year. Police sources associated with the investigation on Saturday said that a questionnaire was being prepared which would be sent to her via e-mail. Tarar had publicly said that she was willing to answer all questions related to the case.
Finding nothing substantial in the statement given by Shashi Tharoor's help Narayan Singh, the police are drawing up a list of people Pushkar was in touch with in the last couple of hours before her death. The list includes family, friends and business partners, reports The Financial Express.
Even though the police grilled Singh for over five hours on Thursday, he had nothing new to add to the statement he had made to the SDM last year, say sources.
Four or five persons, who Pushkar had called and hinted to about Tharoor and an IPL scandal will be included in the list, the sources added.
Sources also said that police may soon interrogate Tharoor, Pushkar's son Shiv Menon, her brother Rajesh, cousin Ashish Dass and cardiologist Rajat Mohan.
The police are also going to question Tharoor's family friend Sanjay Dewan, who is also the Congress leader's personal assistant. Dewan had found Pushkar dead when he went to her room at 5.30 pm to enquire about her health at Hotel Leela Palace.
Shiv Kumar Prasad and Abhinav Kumar, Tharoor's officers on special duty, and driver Bajrang will also be quizzed.
