In the latest twist to the Sunanda Pushkar death, Delhi Police on Tuesday changed the case from suicide to murder.
The unnatural nature of Pushkar's death was the reason for booking the case under IPC Section 302, said Police Commissioner BS Bassi while speaking to media persons, reports NDTV.
He added that the poison could have been injected or taken orally.
When asked about who all would now be investigated with regard to the case, the Police Commissioner refused to name anybody in particular.
Bassi also said that Pushkar's viscera samples would be sent abroad for testing since the facilities were not available in India.
Meanwhile Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, husband of late Sunanda Pushkar, said he never suspected any foul play in his wife's death.
Reactions coming in from Congress called for questioning of anybody remotely connected with the case.
Pushkar was found dead in mysterious circumstances at a luxury hotel in Delhi early last year.
