Sun TV, which is one of the leading GECs of Tamil, has acquired the rights of a biggie. Yes, it has now bagged the satellite rights of forthcoming Tamil movie, Bairavaa, which stars Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Keerthy Suresh in the leads.
As per the rumours, Sun TV has sealed the deal with the makers of Bairavaa. Interestingly, the channel seems to be interested in the audio rights of the movie and the negotiations are on.
On the other hand, a couple of big audio labels are also having talks with the makers of Bairavaa over the music rights. Think Music and Times Music South are also in the race to bag it.
Coming to Sun TV, the Maran brothers-owned channel, has not been actively involved in the business ever since the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was out of the power. The rights of big movies are mostly acquired by its rival channels like Jaya TV and Star Vijay.
Bairavaa is one of the most anticipated movies in the recent times and has generated a lot of buzz in the industry. Cashing in on the hype, the makers have already sold the Tamil Nadu and overseas theatrical rights of the flick.
It is an action-oriented family entertainer in which Vijay will be reportedly seen in dual roles. He has collaborated with Bharathan with whom he had earlier worked in Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Vijaya Productions-bankrolled flick has Jagapathi Babu playing the villain's role.
On the other hand, the makers are also planning about the audio and trailer releases of Bairavaa. It will be released in December.
