Even though "The Kapil Sharma Show" has been garnering overwhelming responses from viewers, rumours have been doing the rounds that Sumona Chakravarti, who plays the role of Sarla, daughter of Dr.Mashoor Gulati's (Sunil Grover) on the show, is planning to quit the show.
According to a Times of India report, Sumona is apparently upset with the makers of "The Kapil Sharma Show" as they are planning to introduce a new character who will play Kapil's love interest on the show. It should be mentioned that Sumona had played Kapil's wife Manju on Kapil's previous show "Comedy Night with Kapil." Kapil's character Bittu and Manju had received immense love from viewers.
However, Sumona refuted reports of exiting "The Kapil Sharma Show." In fact, the "Bade Acche Lagte Hain" actress said that she enjoyed her role on the show. "No, I am not quitting The Kapil Sharma Show. I [am] enjoying my stint on TKSS and I am still part of the show," Sumona told the daily.
Sumona has been a crucial part of "The Kapil Sharma Show," which comprises of Kapil and his team members from the previous show -- Ali Asgar, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar and Navjot Singh Sidhu. "Bigg Boss 9" contestant Rochelle Rao has also joined the team of the comedy show.
Meanwhile, since the inception of "The Kapil Sharma Show," it has failed to generate the expected Television Rating Points (TRPs) despite having received immense love from millions of viewers worldwide. However, in the week 21 (May 21 to May 27) of 2016, the show managed to increase its ratings and was at par with "India's Got Talent," which was the top scorer in the non-fiction category for the past few weeks.
