The buzz around Salman Khan's "Sultan" is immense and what will trigger it further is the release of its full-fledged teaser. However, there's another aspect of it which may interest the superstar's fans.
Kangana Ranaut was reportedly approached but she had to let it go because by then she had given her dates to Vishal Bhardwaj's "Rangoon".
Sources said she also had a script narration session with Ali Abbas Zafar and that both Salman and Aditya Chopra were keen on having her on board.
"The only reason Kangana couldn't be part of Sultan was to an issue with the dates. She had given the same dates for 'Rangoon'," an insider informed The Asian Age.
Meanwhile, the hunt for the film's leading lady has gotten intense and so far a few names have cropped up.
"Bigg Boss 9" contestant Mandana Karimi, Scarlett Wilson and Naaz are some of the newbies who have been associated with Salman's upcoming action-drama.
However, chances are the high-voltage reality show contestant might land the role, considering how kind the superstar is towards her. Although he had clarified how he doesn't have a favourite, he is often seen batting for the Iranian beauty.
In other news, the makers are planning to put out the "Sultan" teaser on Salman's 50th birthday, which is on 27 December.
This will be quite a gift for his fans who were teased with a promotion a few months ago announcing the release date.
"Sultan" will see Salman play a 40-year-old wrestler for which he has been working out rigorously and training pretty hard.
