Shah Rukh Khan's "Dilwale", according to him, may not have performed as well as it was expected to at the box office, but it has given one of its leading ladies a major push in her career. Kriti Sanon has been bagging projects left, right and centre, and if rumours are anything to go by, she may star in Salman Khan's "Bodyguard 2".
According to Absolute India News, the "Sultan" actor was impressed with the young star's acting skills when they enacted a scene from "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" on the sets of "Bigg Boss 9". "Salman was quite impressed with Kriti's acting skills, and after a few days suggested Kriti's name to Atul (Agnihotri, who produced "Bodyguard") for the female lead in the sequel. While Kriti is not yet finalised (for the role), she is definitely one of the strongest contenders for the female lead of Bodyguard's sequel," an insider informed the daily.
This development comes right after the news of Kriti being considered for Salman's "Kick 2", which was where Amy Jackson's heart once lay. What's interesting to note is the 50-year-old charmer is close to the newbie, which is why he suggested she take over as the ambassador of Sohail Khan's Mumbai Heroes team in Celebrity Cricket League.
Last year, actor-producer-director Atul Agnihotri had said since "Bodyguard" ended on a note that killed the chances of a sequel, part two would begin with a fresh story. "The film does not have a leeway to be continuous, and 'Bodyguard' ended on a note that left no room for continuity. So, there will be a new story, and we do have some ideas now," DNA quoted him as saying.
In other news, Salman is currently busy finishing Ali Abbas Zafar's "Sultan" along with Anushka Sharma, and Kriti has immersed herself in preparations for her next film "Raabta", which also stars Sushant Singh Rajput.
