Salman Khan prepping for a fight wearing a langot (loin-cloth) and showing off a chiseled physique with an intense gaze in the first poster of "Sultan" has been met with much criticism on social media. The users are calling it "photoshopped."
The superstar may appear confident in the poster, but sources say he was nervous shooting for the sequences, which required him to wear a langot. An insider told BollywoodLife that the 50-year-old actor wasn't too sure if he could carry off the look. However, it was on director Ali Abbas Zafar's insistence that he went ahead with the scenes.
The "Sultan" teaser is expected to be out April 15, same day as Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan" arrives in theatres.
"Sultan" is a different film for Salman, considering most of what he has done in the past is very commercial. Although this film has elements of an entertainer — a romantic story laced with action -- it has a premise that's different from what he has done before.
He plays a wrestler based out of Haryana and has Anushka Sharma as his love interest. Both the actors have trained with professional wrestlers to master their body language and worked out extensively to get the body type required for the characters they play.
Scheduled for an Eid release, "Sultan" may clash with SRK's "Raees."
