More than Salman Khan, it's the hunt for the leading lady that's getting "Sultan" some serious attention. Several names have been associated with the film so far but none have come close to being confirmed. Kriti Sanon, however, was once a top contender for the role but she backed out after Yash Raj Films put forth a bunch of conditions.
According to a DNA insider, the YRF head honcho Aditya Chopra presented before the "Dilwale" actress a contract upon signing which she would have had to cough up certain percentage of her income to the production house. Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Parineeti Chopra and Vani Kapoor agreed to the mentioned terms and conditions when they were starting out in the industry.
"While newcomers are happy to sign this contract when they get launched by YRF, Kriti, who has already made a name for herself doesn't think it is a fair offer. She would rather give up the film than take up Adi's offer, which comes with this condition," the leading daily quoted the source as saying.
However, Kriti has denied the gossip. "I'd like to clarify again that I have not been offered Sultan. So the question of YRF putting any conditions doesn't arise," she told Bollywood Life.
In other news, Mandana Karimi, Scarlett Wilson and Naaz are some of the names that have been floating around, but like every time, there's been no official announcement about this. However, the "Bigg Boss 9" contestant could be a possibility considering how the superstar almost always bats for her and comes to her rescue during the weekend episodes.
Meanwhile, Salman has wrapped up the first schedule of the Abbas Ali Zafar directorial and is now on a break. He will reportedly resume shooting soon after his 50th birthday, which is on 27 December.
