Salman Khan is pushing his limits with "Sultan." The superstar has shot for a pre-climax action sequence, in which he will be seen performing parkour.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time that he will be seen jumping and swinging about. He trained in parkour for "Ek Tha Tiger." A source told the DNA that the action scenes in "Sultan" are stylish, "raw" and "real."
"It's centred around a kite-running event and Salman not only trained for it but also lost 12 kgs for the scene. Kite-running or patang baazi is a common sport in India where people compete with each other about how high their kites can go till they get cut. Ali Abbas has incorporated a stylised parkour sequence in the chase scene," the insider explained.
Since parkour required Salman to jump from one place to another, there were emergency services on stand-by on the sets. "There were medics on the sets, 24-hour ambulances and a crew on wheels with multi-camera setups to ensure that everything went off smoothly," the daily quoted an insider as saying.
Salman had to rehearse for two days straight. The action has been designed by Hollywood stunt co-ordinator Larnell Stovall and Parvez Sheikh.
The Ali Abbas directorial, which also stars Anushka Sharma as the 50-year-old's love interest, arrives in theatres this Eid. Rumours suggest, the action drama may clash with Shah Rukh Khan's "Raees." However, SRK had said they could reschedule the dates as both the teams maintain a friendly equation.
