The wait is finally over. Director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed that Salman Khan-Anushka Sharma starrer "Sultan" is all set to kick up a storm at the box office starting July 6 and the hype can be seen from its advance booking.
"Sultan" advance booking counter has already opened at the UAE-GCC box office and has received a phenomenal response, according to reports. The unique promotion strategy of Yash Raj Films, producer of "Sultan," has attracted more moviegoers to the cinema hall.
"Anyone who books advance tickets online for the film stands a chance to win a meet and greet with Salman Khan. We will pick three winners, who will also be able to travel with a plus one to meet the actor," Vox Cinemas spokesperson told Emirates 24/7.
The spokesperson further said that the advance ticket sale of "Sultan" is positive at the UAE-GCC box office, especially in the Deira City Centre, BurJuman, Mall of the Emirates and Shindagha outlets.
Nelson D'Souza, Yash Raj Films' head of operations for Middle East & North Africa, told the portal that "Sultan" is set to record the highest advance booking ticket sales in UAE. The team is positive that Salman's "Sultan" will beat the records of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," which was the highest-grossing Bollywood film last year, and Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan," which released this year.
"Shah Rukh's 'Fan' had released across 95 locations in the UAE and the GCC market, while 'Sultan' will release across 99 locations; 55 of them will be across the UAE alone that could range between 150 to 200 screens," D'Souza said.
While in UAE-GCC the film is all set to create records with its advance ticket booking sales, in India the pre-booking counter will open three days before its release. The advance booking for the five-day festive weekend for "Sultan" will begin in India on July 3.
Overall, the film is set to take a big start at the worldwide box office, thanks to Eid al-Fitr holidays.
