Bollywood is no longer a male-dominated world. With women folk deciding to fetch for themselves every step of the way, some refreshing changes are bound to happen in the recent future.
Anushka Sharma has signed a film with Priyanka Chopra's production house Purple Pebble Pictures, reported Mid Day.
A closely-guarded development, the project will see Sharma essay the role of a cop. Earlier Chopra was to star too but she decided to let her peer take the lead this time. "She will play a cop in what will be Priyanka's first Hindi production. PC was supposed to act in the film, but decided to just take credit as producer since she will be seen as a police officer in Prakash Jha's 'Jai Gangaajal'. The film's storyline is interesting and is being closely guarded at the moment," a source informed the leading daily.
This piece of news contradicts with what the "Quantico" star's spokesperson had to say. "For now, she will be producing only regional films." However, a source close to the production house said an official announcement will soon be made, paper work is underway. "This will be the first time an actress will be producing a film for her contemporary," the insider further added.
In other news, Sharma is currently shooting for Salman Khan's "Sultan" in which she will be seen playing a wrestler. The actress also has bits of Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" to finish off.
