Reports of Salman Khan lending a shoulder to Katrina Kaif to cry on post her rumoured split with Ranbir Kapoor have been doing the rounds, but the superstar apparently wants to have nothing to do with their relationship.
According to Bollywood Life's source, the "Sultan" actor has never played agony aunt to Katrina and has always maintained a healthy distance from her.
"Why would now be any different? He doesn't want to intervene and at the party where they met, he was simply lending an ear and hearing her out. It seems that the topic of RK didn't crop up at all and the two ex-lovers were actually discussing other things," the web portal quoted the insider as saying.
This account is in stark contrast to what was being reported earlier by several publications that it was only after a chat with Salman that the "Fitoor" actress decided to part ways with the Kapoor scion.
In other news, the RK-Kat paradise was first hit by trouble when the former did a film with ex-flame Deepika Padukone ("Tamasha"). However, that wasn't apparently the only itch as the actor's non-committal attitude and philandering ways got the better of the relationship.
"Incompatibility was an issue — Ranbir liked to party, Katrina liked to stay home. Ayan Mukerji, who is a close friend, mediated between them. There was also Ranbir's fear of the 'M' word, and after his last film with his ex, Deepika, the relationship just hit a rough patch," a source informed The Asian Age.
Ranbir and Katrina will next be seen in Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos".
