A video featuring Bengali actress Sukanya Chatterji with her ex-lover in Goa has gone viral on the social media. Some sections of the media are mistaking her to be Southern actress, Sukanya of "Srimanthudu" fame.
It was reported that Sukanya Chatterji was arrested following the leak of a video showing her romancing with her ex-lover in Goa. The news went viral on the social media. Some southern media houses mistook her identity as actress Sukanya, who has starred in hundreds of movies in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada languages.
Sukanya is known for her clean career and her roles that feature family-bonding and love. The news about her alleged video came in as shock for many in the southern industry and some of them were upset and furious over the irresponsible reporting of some media houses. However, the "Srimanthudu" actor has kept mum on the issue, while her family refuted the rumours.
Here is what exactly happened. It was reported that Sukanya was arrested from a five-star hotel in Goa following the leak of the video. Even the video of the arrest was circulated. But the incident featured in the video actually happened two years ago. Hyderabad police had arrested some people including Sukanya Chatterjee from Daspalla Hotel in the city. It was first reported by the Telugu media.
This is not the first that Sukanya is facing this kind of embarrassment and insult. The actress was a victim of confusion a couple of times earlier, when the Bengali actress was caught red-handed for allegedly involving in prostitution in a star hotel in Chennai and Bangalore earlier this year. It was reported that Southern actress Sukanya was arrested for her alleged involvement in flesh trade.
Born into a Chennai-based family, Sukanya made her acting debut as heroine with 1991's Tamil movie "Pudhu Nellu Pudhu Naathu." She went to star in over 75 movies in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada languages. She was last seen as Mahesh Babu's mother in "Srimanthudu." She has also acted in TV serials "Anandham" (Tamil), "Present Kadamattathu Kathanar" (Malayalam), "Swami Ayyappan" (Malayalam) and "Adhiparasakthi" (Tamil).
