"Suicide Squad", which is slated for a release in 2016, has already wrapped up production. But it looks like plot rumours and speculations are still running pretty wild.
The latest one has come through a leaked trailer, which not only gives fans a sneak-peek into what's in store, but also hints that the plot will hugely revolve around Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn character.
There have been various reports that have suggested that the plot of "Suicide Squad" may heavily revolve around Harley Quinn aka Dr Harleen Quinzel. It's also believed that her origin story will play a crucial role in the film. So while decoding the leaked Comic-Con trailer, Movie Pilot has reported that the DC Comics film may end up giving Harley's character yet another origin.
After talking about Harley's brief history and various origin stories in the comic world, the website pointed out that she has finally managed to get herself a set of own series. But the origin hinted in DC film's trailer is the most disturbing of all.
The trailer shows the pre-Harley Quinn — Dr Harleen Quinzel -- with her blonde hair and glasses lying on the bed all strapped up with those electrotherapy tools around her. She looks terrified as The Joker stands over her and says: "I'm not gonna kill ya, I'm just gonna hurt ya. Really really badly."
The website pointed out that the sequence of events shown in the trailer are in line with the disturbing relationship that The Joker and Harley share and is very similar to New 52 continuity comic series.
The website further highlighted that the trailer shows Harley as The Joker's victim and not someone who falls in love with him as seen in Arkham. It speculated that Harley could have developed Stockholm Syndrome and that, a lot could have happened between the torture scene and her introduction to the Suicide Squad.
But what exactly would have happened and what's the nature of relationship between The Joker and Harley Quinn is something we will know only when "Suicide Squad" releases on 5 August, 2016.
