They say movie promotions will make you do anything and everything. So while Bollywood actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan is known to be a genius at movie promotions, giving haircuts to citizens during Ghajini and doing the vanishing act during 3 Idiots, our young stars Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma are not far behind.
For the promotions of their latest film Sui Dhaaga - Made in India, the onscreen couple has been going all out. Whether it is a special video on Gandhi Jayanti last year or getting a unique national flag made for Independence Day 2018, the film's producers Yash Raj Films are making the stars do everything.
One of the latest gimmicks comes from Varun Dhawan who decided to wear a saree alongside his co-star Anushka Sharma! Varun Dhawan posted the photo on his Instagram, saying, "Day 2 #suidhaagamadeinindia . Who wore it better Mamta or Mauji par sab badhiyaa hai".
Varun Dhawan plays tailor Mauji in the film and Anushka Sharma plays Mamta, an embroiderer and his wife. Sui Dhaaga – Made in India is a movie about finding respect through self-reliance and self-made businesses, rather than being in a job that does not give space for respect and one's talent. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films (YRF).
Directed by Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga - Made in India is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make in India campaign, as also Mahatma Gandhi's Swadeshi Movement. The film will release on September 28, 2018, ahead of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
