Actor Sudheer Babu, who is set to make a comeback to the big screen with his next outing, says he will be seen in three different looks in "Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini" (KKI), which will hit the screens on 19 June.
"Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini" is a remake of Prem Kumar's hit Kannada film "Charminar". R Chandru, who has written, directed and produced the original film, has directed this Telugu film as well. Released on 8 February, 2013, Charminar became a big hit at the Sandalwood box office. The nostalgic moments featured in the film struck a chord with the viewers.
The movie, which is set in an imaginary village, runs in a flashback mode and tells the love story of a 16-year-old boy. It is all about how a dull boy goes on to become the CEO of a US-based firm. Sudheer Babu is now busy promoting "Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini". "The heart-tugging romance in the film is a throwback to another era and plays out in three different phases," he told Hyderabad Times.
Sudheer Babu plays he lead role, originally played by Prem Kumar. "I play this introvert village boy who is head-over-heels in love with Nanditha, yet can't even look her in the eye...teenaged love at it's purest. In a bid to win her approval, the guy ends up becoming this high flying entrepreneur. How his love for her evolves through that journey is the crux of the film," the actor added.
The actor says that he did not see the Kannada film as he did not want to be influenced by it. Having wrapped up its shooting, he is happy that he has added a new spirit to the character. "It is a role that has a lot of scope for performance. I will be seen in three different looks - that of a teenager, a 20 something college pass out and a 35-year-old," Sudheer said.
After Prema Katha Chitram (PKC), Sudheer has once again been paired up with Nanditha. "She is a fabulous actress. We complement each other well onscreen. The chemistry between Nanditha and me will be nothing like what it was in PKC," Sudheer said when quizzed about his romance with the actress.
