Subramanian Swamy has triggered a storm by claiming that superstar Rajinikanth is a Marathi and not Tamilian. The outspoken politician took dig at Rajini in regard to his possible entry in politics.
Swamy not only claimed that Rajinikanth is a Marathi from Bengaluru, but also said that the Talaiva would fail if he decides to join politics, according to CNN News 18.
He has even said that Rajinikanth has no ideology and must stay out of politics. Swamy further said that actors are good at making statements as their dialogues are scripted. Taking jibe at the star's huge fan-following, Swamy said that it is just a cult following and not an ideological following.
The 66-year-old actor had earlier hinted that he might join politics in near future.
"God decides what we have to do in life. Right now, he wants me to be an actor and I m fulfilling my responsibility. If God is willing, I will enter politics tomorrow. If I enter, I will be very truthful and will not entertain people who are in this to make money. I won't work with such people," Rajinikanth was recently quoted as saying at an event in Chennai.
He had also said that he will not join any political party. "I did a mistake by supporting alliance 21 years ago. It was a political accident. Since then, politicians have misused my name on several occasions. But I have to clarify, I am not joining any party," Rajinikanth had said.
