Studio Green is now making sure that it has the right films in its hands for distribution. The latest we hear is that the company had bagged Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the upcoming Mani Ratnam romantic flick "OK Kanmani".
Reports indicate that Gnanavelraja's Studio Green has acquired the theatrical rights of the movie for a decent amount and planning to release the flick in April 2015.
Meanwhile, Studio Green is now getting ready to release some of the big movies of the season. It has scheduled the release of "Komban" starring Karthi; bilingual biggie "Baahubali" starring Prabhas and Suriya's much-awaited flick "Masss".
The team of "OK Kanmani" has already created waves among audiences as well as in the industry with teaser and trailer of the movie. The trailer of the movie, which features lead actors Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead, crossed 1 million views within a day of its release.
The trailer in fact took the audience back to Mani Ratnam's hit romantic flick "Alaiypayuthey" starring Madhavan and Shalini. Cinematography by PC Sreeram and music by AR Rahman are seen as major highlights of the trailer. The romantic chemistry between the lead pair has raised expectations from the film.
"OK Kanmani" is touted as an urban love story; while Dulquer Salmaan plays the character of Aadi, Nithya plays Tara. The character Aadi is seen as someone who stays away from commitments in relationship and Tara is one who enjoys the idea of "live the moment to the fullest."
Vairamuthu has penned the lyrics for AR Rahman's music in the film, which is being produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
