A teenager set himself on fire inside the school premises in Haryana's Faridabad district on Wednesday. The boy suffered 45% burn injuries and has been taken to Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi, where his condition is said to be critical.
The Class VIII student used the petrol he was reportedly carrying in his water bottle to set himself ablaze after the school assembly in the restroom of Holy Child School in Faridabad's Sector 29. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital from where he was referred to Safdarjung hospital.
According to the Zee News report, the child took the decision to end his life because of misbehaviour and ill-treatment by his school teacher.
