Two Bollywood movies – Stree and Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se -- are set to release this Friday, causing yet another box office clash.
While Stree is a horror comedy based on a real life phenomenon, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is a conventional comedy film with a lot of action and madness.
Both the movies are almost equal in terms of budget, however, Stree garnered a higher buzz as compared to the other movie. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor among others, Stree had everyone's attention ever since the first look poster was released.
The trailer of the film got an even better response from the viewers and it is touted to be a must watch film for many. The trailer hinted at the movie with a good dose of humour and horror at the same time. It will also showcase a fresh chemistry between Shraddha and Rajkummar.
On the other side, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se features Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Dharmendra and Kriti Kharbanda. It is the third instalment of the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise. Although the first part of the series was well-received by the audience, the second instalment turned out to be a flop. However, one factor that might work as an added advantage for the third part is the cameo from Salman Khan.
Both the movies are expected to have a neck-and-neck fight at the box office, at least on the opening day. Nonetheless, both the movies are meant for a different set of audience. While Stree will mostly attract the multiplex audience, Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is likely to witness better business in the single screens.
Considering the hype around the two films, Stree is expected to collect Rs 4.5 crore at the Indian box office on its opening day, while Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se is likely to make a business of Rs 3.5 crore on the first day.
