Brace yourselves, Stranger Things fans! Season 3 of the much-acclaimed Netflix drama is on its way. After keeping quiet for several months since the release of Season 2 in October last year, the cast and creative team of Stranger Things have finally opened up about the upcoming season — production will start this month.
While attending the PaleyFest Sunday, March 25 at the Dolby Theatre, the executive producer of Netflix's Stranger Things Shawn Levy has dropped some major spoilers for the upcoming third season. It will be set during the summer of 1985, which is one year after the second season.
While the cast has not got the scripts in their hand, Levy dropped a bomb on the event red carpet, saying, Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) would be in relationship respectively in Stranger Things Season 3.
Levy said, "Mike and Eleven and are going strong, so that's a relationship that continues, and same with Mad Max and Lucas. But Again, they're like 13 or 14-year-old kids, so what does romance mean at that stage of life? It can never be simple and stable relationships and there's fun to that instability."
And, the most exciting news is that Daddy Steve (Joe Keery) will be back again in this season and he will have more of that role alongside Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo).
"We'll definitely get to see some more of Steve Harrington in season three, and I"ll just say we won't be abandoning the Dad Steve magic. I don't want to say much more, but I literally feel that we were walking along and we stumbled onto a gold mine with Dad Steve," Levy added.
The production of Stranger Things Season 3 will begin very soon and the 1985 sci-fi film Back to the Future will be a reference in the new season.
