The second season of Netflix's epic science-fiction series "Stranger Things" will see the return of some of the most prominent characters from the show, including Eleven (portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown) and Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper (portrayed by David Harbour).
The duo played a crucial role in assisting Joyce Byers (portrayed by Winona Ryder) and Mike Wheeler (portrayed by Finn Wolfhard) to rescue Joyce's son, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). Reportedly, the setting of "Stranger Things" Season 2 will be significantly expanded compared to the first season.
In an interview with IGN, the creators of the show, Matt and Ross Duffer, said that the plot of Season 2 will continue exploring the story of the characters after it was revealed that Dr Brenner (portrayed by Matthew Modine) was using the powers of Jane "Eleven" Ives to bring the Demogorgon to Hawkins.
After the first season, the character of Eleven immediately became a fan favourite and science-fiction fans across the globe now consider it as one of the most iconic characters in the history of sci-fi television series. Though Eleven was gone in the Season 1 finale, several reports have stated that the Duffer brothers have plans to bring her back.
Chief Hopper was seen placing Eggo waffles in the woods to track Eleven in the first season and the Duffer brothers have confirmed that Hopper and Eleven will be seen together in the upcoming season.
"But we like the idea of potentially putting her and Hopper together," Matt Duffer said.
In the mean time, Telegraph has reported that Will Buyers, the kid who went missing in the first episode that triggered all the chain of events, will have an evil personality in "Stranger Things" Season 2. Several rumours also state that Will might play one of the antagonists in the next instalment of the show.
The release date of "Stranger Things" Season 2 is not yet confirmed either by Netflix or the Duffer brothers. However, till it is announced, fans can binge watch the first season of the series on the streaming network.
