The baby shower for Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on Tuesday saw the B-town fraternity making a beeline to the Bachchan residence.
The grand baby shower hosted by mother-in-law Jaya Bachchan at the "Bachchan Household Jalsa" in Mumbai was packed with B-town guests and decked with rows of flowers; it had a real festive look.
According to reports from the electronic media, Aishwarya is said to have worn an orange sari for the occasion. If guests are to be believed, "the former Miss World (1994) looked ethereal," with the radiance of any mother-to-be on her face.
"Aishwarya was looking like a 'chand ka tukda.' She was looking beautiful. We wish Abhishek and Aishwarya all the best," said Saira Banu.
"I have never seen so many celebrity women together. All the women went up to Aishwarya and blessed her. Jayaji received each guest personally and was very warm. Even her daughter, Shweta, gave personal attention to everyone. There were a lot of songs and celebration," said Saroj Khan who choreographed Aishwarya for songs like "Nimbooda," "Taal se taal mila" and "Barso re."
"Aishwarya looked pretty in orange. Her face had such a glow. She was decorated with mogra flowers. Even Abhishek looked extremely happy. God bless them both and may the child have a long life," she added.
Further, the veteran choreographer praised Ash's husband Abhishek Bachchan, "who wore a white sherwani style of kurta."
According to media sources, famous makeup artist Mickey Contractor did the makeup for Aishwarya for the special baby shower.
Bollywood celebrities like Urmila Matondkar, Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, Manyata Dutt, Ritu Nanda, Neetu Kapoor, Neelam Kothari, Mana Shetty, Vaibhavi Merchant, Poonam Sinha, designer duo Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla and Karan Johar were among others who attended the special day.
The 37-year-old "chand ka tukda," who married Abhishek Bachchan on April, 20, 2007, is eight months pregnant and the baby is due mid- November.
