The shooting of "Star Wars Episode 7" seems to be underway and JJ Abrams owned company Bad Robot tweeted a picture of the Episode VII clapperboard with the message "#dayone".
The company has 84k followers on its Twitter account. Though there is no confirmation as to where the shooting of new "Star Wars" episode is going to take place, rumors suggest that it will be shot in Abu Dhabi.
Reports further suggest that Abrams will be shooting portions of the film in Morocco and Tunisia as well, said Digital Spy.
Meanwhile, as far as cast of the film goes, Adam Driver is rumored to play Hans Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia's (Carrie Fisher) son in the film. Previous reports had suggested that Driver would be playing an antagonist in the film.
"He will be playing the son of Han and Leia, and it seems he will be seduced to the Dark Side, and a main plot point for the movie will be their attempt to rescue him," a source revealed to Jedi News, claiming it is a rumor.
"Star Wars: Episode 7" will have Fisher, Ford and Mark Hamill reprising their roles. Other star cast of the film includes Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, Max Von Sydow and John Boyega.
"We are excited to finally share the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode VII,'" director J.J. Abrams said in official press release.
"It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again. We start shooting in a couple weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud," he added.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" will open worldwide on December 18, 2015.
