Star Wars family and fans will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the franchise on Thursday, May 25. It is the day when first movie from the science fiction film series, A New Hope, was released on theatres. The motion picture was screened on 32 theatres in the US.
One of the iconic characters from the film series is Jedi Master Luke Skywalker. He is apparently gearing up to make things tough for the Rebel Resistance Fighters and The First Order stormtroopers in Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Speculations are rife that he will follow the footsteps of his father Anakin Skywalker and turn to the darkside.

So, let's look back at some of the promises made by Mark Hamill's character in the past and the best quotes by him below:
I'll never turn to the dark side. You've failed your highness. I am a Jedi, like my father before me.
You're gravely mistaken; you won't convert me as you did my father.
I have accepted that you were once a Jedi named Anakin Skywalker, my father.
Your thoughts betray you, Father. I feel the good in you, the conflict.
I'll never join you.
The Force runs strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. And... My sister has it.
I want to learn the ways of the Force and become a Jedi like my father.
I promise to return and finish what I've begun. You have my word.
May the force be with you
I only know one truth: It's time for the Jedi... to end.
