After Ramesh Sippy's wife Kiran Juneja announced "Bajirao Mastani" instead of "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" as the winner, actress Preity Zinta also committed an embarrassing goof up at Star Screen Awards 2016. Preity addressed Sonakshi Sinha as Sonam Kapoor on the stage of the awards ceremony.
"It was really embarrassing for both Sonakshi and Sonam. Preity made a terrible mistake. Not just that, she continued referring Sonakshi as Sonam till Shotgun Junior herself reminded her that she isn't Sonam but Sonakshi," DNA quoted an onlooker.
It seems Preity had a Miss Universe 2015 moment on stage, which has become quite common at award ceremonies nowadays. Juneja, who was a presenter at the awards ceremony, was announcing the award for Best Story of 2015. Instead of the Salman Khan starrer she announced "Bajirao Mastani".
However, Juneja corrected her mistake instantly and announced the right movie's name. A similar incident happened at Big Star Entertainment Awards 2015 in December. Anu Malik created confusion when he called "Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2" actress Nushrat Bharucha as Nishant Bhandari.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone walked away with top honours at Star Screen Awards 2016. Ranveer won the best actor award for his brilliant performance in "Bajirao Mastani", which he shared with megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who got it for "Piku"
The best female actress went to Deepika for "Piku", while Kabir Khan won the best director award for "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", which also bagged Best Film Award. The Salman starrer also received Best Background Score title and Harshali Malhotra got Best Child Actor Award as well.
