Mahindra & Mahindra owned SsangYong Motor is all set to expand the Tivoli SUV brand with long body version. Christened as Tivoli XLV, the new SUV will debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March. Ahead of the unveiling, the Korean manufacturer released sketch images of the upcoming SUV.
The Tivoli XLV will be based on the XLV Air concept we saw at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The XLV features a similar face of the current Tivoli SUV. The Tivoli XLA will come with the same 2,600mm wheelbase of the current model. The section after C-pillar has been stretched by 235mm interior room, which will also result in a huge 720-litre boot. Though there were reports on the availability of third row of seats, there is no clarification on the same at present.
Information on powertrains is also under the wraps till the Geneva show. The industry reports hint at a 1.6-litre petrol or turbodiesel engine, mated to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission.
Mahindra & Mahindra unveiled the current Tivoli at the Auto Expo 2016 and it is expected to be the second product from SsangYong for India. The international spec Tivoli is powered by 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. In India, Mahindra is likely to use the 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder, mHawk80 diesel debuted with the TUV300. The launch can be expected in the second half of 2016.
