KV Vijayendra Prasad, father of "Baahubali" director SS Rajamouli, is set to make his debut in Kannada with a psychological thriller.
"This is a psychological thriller. It will be shot in Udupi and Bengaluru. The film has a cast of newcomers," the Times of India quotes the filmmaker as saying.
Vijayendra Prasad claims that he has spent at lot of his life in Karnataka and lived in Raichur. He adds that he can speak Kannada well and has special love for the language.
He had earlier directed movies like Nagarjuna starrer "Rajanna" and "Sri Krishna". However, he has been screenwriter for most of his career. He has penned stories for Tollywood blockbusters like "Samarasimha Reddy", "Simhadri", "Chatrapathi", "Vikramarkudu" and "Magadheera".
He has also written for his son's forthcoming multilingual movie, "Baahubali", which is said to be the costliest ever Telugu movie. The film stars Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles. Kannada superstar Sudeep has also done a cameo in the film.
Coming back to Vijayendra Prasad's Kannada film, it is produced by R Sreenivas and KP Srikanth. The film will be made in Tamil and Telugu as well. Other details about the project are still under wraps.
