Director SS Rajamouli has revealed how Prabhas suffered financial crisis for not signing any other movie during the making of the Baahubali franchise. The actor gave five years entirely to the massive project, and had not got the due payment.
"Prabhas had three consecutive hits and producers kept running after him with money but he only focused on Baahubali. It was his single-minded focus on the movie that he instructed his manager not to demand anything from producers and take anything they give. There was a time when he was stressed for money," The Asian Age quoted Rajamouli as saying.
Even when Prabhas was near bankrupt, he did not shift his focus from Baahubali 2, and that impressed Rajamouli greatly.
"The whole film Baahubali was possible because of Prabhas, who being a lead actor in the south film industry, believed in this project and gave five years of his life to the film. I don't think anybody can get so much involved in the project with that kind of passion, time and commitment," the director added.
Prabhas reportedly received the highest fees among the other cast of Baahubali 2. The actor reportedly got Rs. 25 crore for the role. Earlier, there were reports that Prabhas had rejected a brand endorsement offer worth Rs. 18 crore.
