Ace director SS Rajamouli, who is basking in the success of "Baahubali - the Beginning", is reportedly planning to do a sequel to his blockbuster movie "Eega" after wrapping up "Baahubali 2".
Two weeks after the release of "Baahubali - the Beginning", SS Rajamouli has become busy with the production of "Baahubali 2", which is scheduled to hit screens in September 2016. The director has plans to make a sequel to "Eega", but will take a decision only after completing the current project, reports 123Telugu.
During the promotion of "Baahubali - the Beginning", SS Rajamouli had said that he would team up with Superstar Mahesh Babu for a film after wrapping up "Baahubali 2". But he had declined to divulge the details of the movie. He is yet to respond to rumours about the sequel to "Eega".
SS Rajamouli is one of the most successful directors of Indian cinema. Before "Baahuabli", he had directed nine movies and all of them went on to become superhit at the box office. His ventures "Magadheera" and "Eega" were not only commercially successful, but also won lot critical acclaim globally.
"Eega" starring Sudeep, Samantha and Nani in the leads was a fantasy revenge drama film written and directed by SS Rajamouli. The movie was about how a guy who takes rebirth as a housefly to avenge his own death by the villain.
The film was produced simultaneously in Tamil as "Naan Ee". It was dubbed and released in Malayalam as "Eecha" and Hindi as "Makkhi". All the four versions proved successful at the box office.
"Eega" was premiered at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, the 16th Shanghai International Film Festival, Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival, Fantaspoa Film Festival of Brazil and the Madrid International Film Festival. The movie won several awards at international festivals.
